GHBOB 101: THE BEGINNING
For 8th grade band students planning to advance to the High School program, things will start happening in the spring of the 8th grade year. For current HS band students, preparations for the next season of band will also be getting underway.
March/April, Band Camp info: detailed Band Camp information will typically be released by this time. This will include Band Camp location, forms to fill out, and payment information. The forms are typically posted on this web site. Basic camp information, and photos from previous camps, are available year round on this web site. Note that we attempt to book camp for the same week every year, during the last week of July (Sunday through Friday), to allow families to plan ahead from year to year.
Late March, Jazz Ensemble auditions: auditions for next year’s HS Jazz Ensemble, open to students currently in grades 8-11. Current members need not re-audition. As Jazz Ensemble is a separate class, students in Jazz Ensemble need not also participate in MB/CB or HSO (although they often do).
Late April or early May, squad leader selection: squad leader applications for next season, open to all returning MB/CB students currently in grades 9-11.
