GHBOB UPDATE

9/27/2023

Greetings, GHBOB families, and happy Homecoming Week! The GHBOB is proud to congratulate GHHS Marching Band senior Ben Matter, who was recently selected as a
member of the 2023 GHHS Homecoming Court. We are always so proud to see our instrumental music students receiving special recognition, because as we all know: band and orchestra kids are the best kids! Please read on for other details of the upcoming week.
  1. HOMECOMING WEEK! As noted, it's Homecoming week in Grandview Heights, and that means it's time for a parade! Our GHHS Marching Band, as well as the cheerleaders and homecoming court members, will march through the streets of Grandview at 6pm this Friday. The parade route is 1st Ave from the middle school, to Grandview Ave, to 3rd Ave and on into the stadium. Come on out and cheer for Ben and for our marching Bobcats!
  2. EIGHTH GRADE BAND TO PERFORM: Then, after the parade, you can follow the Marching Band right into the stadium and stick around for the halftime show, when our 8th grade band members will join the GHHS MB on the field for a joint performance! Eighth graders will be sharing a pregame meal with our HS Marching Band students before the parade, and then hanging out with them in the stands during the first half of the football game, before taking the field together for the halftime show. Come out and cheer them on, too! NOTE TO EIGHTH GRADE FAMILIES: if you ordered a new shirt for your student for Friday's performance, it will be delivered at school during class today (Weds Sep 27). Please make sure they bring it home! You can also click here for Mrs. Olis's message to eighth grade families about Friday's activities, with everything you need to know about what to wear, where to be, and when to be there. We can't wait!
  3. CONCESSIONS SPECIAL! And as if that weren't enough excitement already, the GHBOB is experimenting with some new concessions offerings in honor of Homecoming week - so, stop by the home stand and get your fresh grilled pierogis and onions with optional bratwurst. It's delicious, supports our instrumental music students, and there's no need to worry about making dinner at home. Winning!

  4. CONCESSIONS VOLUNTEERS: What's that you say? You are so excited about the pierogis, you want to come and help us sell them? I have the best news! There are still 4 slots open on our signupgenius, so click here and claim them today! Remember that some of our regular volunteers have eighth grade students performing on the field that they'd like to sneak a peek at, so if you don't happen to have an eighth grader, maybe this is the week for you to help out?  And hey, if you are especially interested in concessions, you should also know that our concessions chair, Brenda Parker, will be retiring from GHBOB this year after three amazing years of improving and streamlining our concessions operation. Maybe you are interested in taking over next year? If so, then why not volunteer this week and let Brenda start sharing all of her wisdom with you in realtime? Thank you for considering!
