Dear 8th Grade Band Parents, The 8th grade band will be performing in the halftime show at the GHHS football game THIS Friday, September 29. All students are required to attend - and won't want to miss it! Halftime typically occurs around 8:00-8:15pm. Please encourage as many family members and friends to come out to the game and support the students!
Schedule 4:30pm: Meet in the high school cafeteria for a pizza dinner with the high school band (an alternate food option will be available for those with dietary restrictions). Thank you to GHBOB!! 5:25pm: Warm-up and run halftime music with the high school band in the high school band room. 5:50pm: Line up on 3rd Ave. with chaperones to watch the high school band in the homecoming parade. 6:30pm: Join the high school band in the band stands for pregame celebrations. 6:45pm: HS band pregame performance. The 8th grade band will watch this performance from the sidelines and then join the high school band in the stands following pregame to play stand tunes during the 1st and 2nd quarters. Approx. 8:00-8:15pm: Follow Mrs. Olis to the home side of the track in your staging area for the performance. Wait and watch the away band’s performance. Approx 8:15-8:30pm: Enter the field from the home side in your predetermined spot on the field to perform “Firework” and “Bad Guy.” Exit the field with the HS band. Approx. 8:30pm: Following the performance, all 8th grade band students will walk back to the school with Mr. Stanley to put away their instruments. Those students who would like to return and sit with the HS marching band for the remainder of the game are invited to do so and will walk back with Mr. Stanley. Those who would like to leave are free to go at this time. Students who choose to stay should bring money with them for concessions (HS band goes to concession during the 3rd quarter). Dress for the game is navy band shirt on top, shorts/leggins/jeans/khakis on bottom (no holes in pants, please), and tennis shoes. This is a very exciting opportunity for the Grandview Bands! We hope that all participating find this to be an enjoyable and fun experience! Thank you parents for your cooperation and we will see you on THIS FRIDAY! Musically Yours, Jennifer Olis Comments are closed.
