BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Hello and happy summer, GH Instrumental Music Families! We are SO EXCITED to share the news that our new GHHS Band Director was approved by the Board of

Education this week! Please read on for that and a few other important updates.

1. WELCOME, JENNIFER OLIS! We here at GH Band Parents HQ are just thrilled to introduce Jennifer Olis, our new GHHS Band Director! We are also SO grateful to the GH Schools administration for inviting students from the GH Marching Band, members of our BPA Board, and the entire music faculty of GH schools to participate in the interview and selection process. We believe that led us to exactly the right candidate to take the baton and lead us into the future. You can read more about Jennifer on our web site by clicking here. 
2. MEET THE DIRECTOR NIGHT: Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 20 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, when all GH instrumental music parents are invited to meet Ms. Olis at an informal "meet and greet" event. Whether your student is just starting out in band or is a rising senior, or anywhere in between, you are welcome to come and say hello. She is excited to meet all of you! (LOCATION TBD, WATCH FOR UPDATES!)
3. BAND CAMP DEADLINES: for those families with students in the GHHS Marching Band this fall, please remember that registration forms and payment are due June 30. Both the registration and payment forms are online this year, and you can find links to them on our Band Camp page, by clicking here. Lots of other information is available there as well, but if you have any questions, of course please let us know!
4. BAND CAMP MEETING: all HS Marching Band parents are also invited to attend a very brief Band Camp meeting on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:30pm (immediately following the "meet and greet" event mentioned above, location also TBD) with Ms. Olis and members of the BPA Board. This is not a required event and anyone who has a "veteran" GHHS MB student, or who simply has no Band Camp questions in need of answers, need not plan to attend. But anyone who does have questions is welcome to come and have them answered there, live and in person!
5. VOLUNTEERS: Finally, a reminder that we still need several adult volunteers to help us make Band Camp happen. New to Marching Band? No problem! The jobs are all easy and we can teach you the ropes. Please click here to visit our signupgenius and help out where you can.
