​The GHMB is looking forward to giving a great performance at our first football game Friday night!

Summer Uniform
The band will be performing in their Summer uniform for the first few games.  Consistency from student to student is very important.  All students are expected to follow these guidelines:

1. All members will wear their white band polo, blue band shorts, short white socks, and white marching shoes. Shirts should be tucked in.
2. Members with long hair will have their hair up in a ponytail and/or french braid.
3. Undershirts and/or tank tops should be white - avoid contrast colors or graphic prints.
4. If members received a new pair of shoes, be sure to break them in before Friday to avoid blisters.

Evening Rehearsals
There are five Evening Rehearsals for this season and that number will not increase.  All five rehearsals are considered required and will be calculated into your grade.  Exceptions to the requirement are (1) for athletes who have traveling matches which return later than 9:00PM on the dates listed above, or, (2) on a case-by-case basis as needed.  Work and non-Grandview Heights activities should be scheduled around Evening Rehearsals; please submit the dates above to your work management or advisors.  
Our first night rehearsal is this Wednesday, August 16th, 8:00-10:00PM. Rehearsal evenings vary throughout the season, so please refer to the Google Calendar often!
Flip Folders
Each band member received a flip folder from the band at the beginning of the season.  The flip folder allows your student to conveniently keep their music organized and transport it easily.
If your student has misplaced the flip, it is their responsibility to replace it.  Flip folders are available from Stanton’s Sheet Music (330 South Fourth St), Music & Arts (Graceland Shopping Center), Buckeye Brass (7445 Montgomery Dr, Plain City), or online.  Flip folders come standard with 5 ‘windows.’  It is recommended you purchase extra windows to accommodate all the music distributed. Music/Flip Folders will be checked periodically and is calculated into your student’s grade.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Decal Drive 2023 - THIS Sunday, August 20 - 4:45-7:00PM
Decal Drive is the largest fundraiser for the band program. Funds raised benefit ALL band members with reduced camp costs, instruments & repairs, uniform maintenance, music rights, and much more.

It's MANDATORY, and all students in the High School Band are expected to attend. Student groups ride in vehicles driven by parents to designated routes and collect donations in exchange for a window cling Decal. If residents aren't home, we leave a donation envelope in their door.

Students: Students: 4:45pm check-in at the Middle School Commons. Check in for your group and driver list. Please bring a water bottle and wear sneakers for comfort as you'll be walking door-to-door for donations. ORCHESTRA students wear t-shirt with logo. BAND students wear summer uniforms. Event ends by 7pm. Ice cream will be handed out at check-out!
