Hello all! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer break and are ready to jump into the new school year! As I mentioned last year, the orchestra program has been adopted by the Grandview Heights Band and Orchestra Boosters (also known as the GHBOB). The GHBOB is responsible for providing crucial financial assistance for the band and orchestra. For example, they help us purchase new music to play for concerts, instrument repairs, seeing live performances as a class, guest clinicians and so much more. As a way to ensure that we have enough funds to keep growing, our part is to assist in the yearly major fundraisers. Our first of only a few fundraisers is the Decal Drive, which undoubtedly is our largest of the year. Here are the details:
Decal Drive 2023 - THIS Sunday, August 20 - 4:45-7:00PM It's MANDATORY, and all students in the High School Band and Orchestra are expected to attend. Student groups ride in vehicles driven by parents to designated routes and collect donations in exchange for a window cling Decal. If residents aren't home, we leave a donation envelope in their door. Students: 4:45pm check-in at the Middle School Commons. Check in for your group and driver list. Please bring a water bottle and wear sneakers for comfort as you'll be walking door-to-door for donations. ORCHESTRA students wear t-shirt with logo. BAND students wear summer uniforms. Event ends by 7pm. Ice cream will be handed out at check-out! I will be sure to talk more about this fundraiser to students throughout the week. I look forward to starting the year off strong and I can’t wait to see all of you soon at our upcoming concerts! More details to follow! And as always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns! Best, Thomas Stanley Comments are closed.
