BAND PARENTS' UDPATE

Hello and happy March, GH music families! Here are a few quick reminders as we teeter on the brink of springtime in Columbus.

1. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: reminder that all GHBPA scholarship applications are due this Friday, March 4. Applications can be printed from the documents page of our web site, and should be returned to Mr. Herrmann in a sealed envelope. 
2. EIGHTH GRADE FAMILIES: if you have an 8th grader with questions about GHHS Marching Band, we have some resources for you! There's a quick summary here, and we also recommend the Bobcat Bands 101 and Band Camp pages, for more detailed information. Check them out, and of course if you still have questions, please just let us know.
3. EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: another new page on our web site is now a gathering place for information on instrumental music classes, workshops, and summer camps. Check it out if you are looking for something new for your student, and if you have an activity that we should put on the list to share with others, please let us know by replying to this email.
4. HIGH SCHOOL CONCERTS: finally, March is Music in Our Schools Month, and our high school bands will celebrate with two concert performances! The GHHS Concert Band performs on March 15, and the GHHS Jazz Ensemble gives their annual Artist-in-Residence concert on March 17. The March 17 concert will open with the special appearance of the Seven O-Clock Jazz Band, Mr. Stanley's exploratory jazz lab for 7th through 12th graders. Both concerts at 7pm, location TBD.
