GHBOB UPDATE

Greetings GHBOB family! Wow, are we ever flying through the fall already, almost halfway through the marching season. And this is a big week with a home football ​

game against cross-town rival Bexley HS, as well as the ever-popular Grandview Ox Roast down at Pierce Field on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It's a great time to be a Bobcat! Please read on for a few important updates from the GHBOB.

1. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Please click here and visit the signupgenius, and help us fill just SIX MORE SLOTS on this week's signup. This is an especially tough week for volunteers with the Ox Roast going on down at the other end of town, so please, please, PLEASE help out if you can! ALL ARE WELCOME, INCLUDING MIDDLE SCHOOL AND ORCHESTRA PARENTS, AND NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Big thanks to Jay McKelvey and Bob Rutter for tag-teaming the equipment truck driving duties last week. Sometimes it takes a village to move a marching band.
2. MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERT SHIRTS: If you have a middle school instrumentalist and you haven't  filled out the t-shirt form yet, please do so ASAP (even if you already have a shirt). All forms are due by September 15. Click here for all the details!
3. HIGH SCHOOL HONOR BAND OPPORTUNITY: High school band members are invited to participate in the Capital University Band Festival, occurring this year on November 10-12. Click here for more details on our web site. Interested players should see Mrs. Olis for a nomination form. All forms must be submitted by September 19!
4. JOIN US FOR THE OX ROAST PEP RALLY & PIT LIGHTING! NEW THIS YEAR, the Bobcat Boosters have announced that there will be a community pep rally and pit lighting ceremony at Pierce Field on THURSDAY NIGHT at 8:30pm (the pit lighting had formerly been held after the football game on Friday). ALL ARE WELCOME, the event is free and open to the public. The GHHS Marching Band will perform, along with the GHHS cheerleaders, and senior athletes and band members will participate in the ceremonial lighting of the ox roasting pit. Please join us there for this fun new community tradition!
5. GHHS MARCHING BAND, WEEK #4: Finally, Mrs. Olis's weekly update to the GHHS Marching Band is available by clicking here. It's a big week with a lot going on, please make sure your student is fully up to date.
