GHBOB UPDATE

​GHBOB families, this is a HUGE WEEK for our instrumental music programs, as our marching band season starts to wind down and our concert seasons begin to ramp up. ​

There is so much going on, please read on for all the details!

1. VOLUNTEERS: Help save us the trouble of begging later in the week by clicking here to visit the Friday night signupgenius right now and claiming those last few available spots! Remember, Friday is senior night, and many of our regular volunteers (including our tireless concessions chairperson herself, Brenda Parker) will be busy celebrating their seniors, so we can really use some extra help this week. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY - we can teach you everything you need to know! Middle school and orchestra families, this is your chance - come join the fun!

   OSU HONOR BAND OPPORTUNITY: Reminder that GHHS band students are invited to apply for an opportunity to participate in the OSU Honor Band at Ohio State. More details are available on our web site by clicking here. Interested students should see Mrs. Olis for a nomination form, which must be submitted by October 31.

   JAZZ ENSEMBLE CONCERT THIS WEDNESDAY! Our GHHS Jazz Ensemble, joined by the Seven O'Clock Jazz Band, will perform at 7pm this Wednesday, October 18 in the GHHS Auditorium. Click here to view the concert program and bookmark it in advance. Come join us for a great night of music-making!

   SEASON IN REVIEW: Then plan to join us on Thursday, October 19 at 7pm inBobcat Stadium for the GHHS Marching Band's annual Season in Review performance. The Band will showcase all of their shows from this past season live and in rapid succession. Click here to view the program and bookmark it in advance. Free and open to the public, this event s a great opportunity to see your marching Bobcats in action one more time before the season ends - bring your friends and neighbors and we will see you there!
5. 
   SENIOR RECOGNITION: And then you can come cap off this amazing week by helping us celebrate our eight GHHS Marching Band seniors and their families at their final regular season performance on Friday, October 20. The pregame senior recognition program will start around 6:30pm on the 50-yard-line in Bobcat Stadium, with the football Bobcats kicking off against Mifflin HS at 7pm. Be sure to stick around for the halftime show with music selected by our seniors - Lyla, Steve, Freddie, Ben, Eryn, Colin, Sammy, and Liv. 
6. POTENTIAL PLAYOFF GAME: In other exciting news - our football Bobcats have a good shot at making the playoffs! This would mean that our GHHS Marching Band season gets extended as well. More details to come, but for now GHHS Marching Band families should tentatively plan on October 27 as another marching performance opportunity. Go Bobcats!
