GHBOB UPDATE

Good morning GHBOB families! Last week was such an amazing week for so many of our students  - the jazz students gave a wonderful concert on Wednesday, we threaded ​

the Marching Band's Season in Review event between the raindrops on Thursday, and then we all had a ball honoring our GHHS Marching Band seniors on Friday. And the Bobcat football team followed it up with a shutout win that sealed a home game playoff berth. WHEW! Read on for a few volunteer asks, and other important updates from the GHBOB!

1. WE NEED YOUR CROCKPOTS! Yes, you read that right! We need to borrow your crockpots! The GHBOB concession stand special at this week's playoff game will be homemade chicken and noodles, and we will need about 13 crockpots to make that plan a reality. If you have a 5-quart or larger size crockpot that you are willing to lend us from Thursday until Saturday this week, please reply to this email and let us know. We can pick it up from you or you can drop it off on the front porch at 1179 Broadview Ave (please mark it with your name so we know where to return it) by Thursday afternoon. THANK YOU for your help with this effort! 
2. WE ALSO NEED VOLUNTEERS: An extra home game means another volunteer opportunity - we will need the usual help with uniform distribution and concession stand support for Friday night's game. Please click here to find the signupgenius and help if you can!

   AND HEY HERE'S YET ANOTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: There's been so much going on that we haven't yet shared the news that the GHBOB will once again be sponsoring our 5th and 6th grade instrumental music students' field trip to Ohio State for the Music Celebration Youth Concert, occurring this year on Friday, Dec 1. This event was a big hit with students last year and we are thrilled to be able to support this learning opportunity again for our 5th and 6th grade orchestra and band students! We will need several parent chaperones for this event as well, so if you are interested in joining the fun, please click here to visit the signupgenius for more details.    PHOTOS AND VIDEO: As mentioned above, we had a lot of fun last week enjoying our GHHS Marching Band's Season in Review on Thursday and celebrating and recognizing our seniors and their families on Friday. Click here to visit our web site, where there are front page stories, photos, and video from both events.    OHIO STATE HONOR BAND OPPORTUNITY: This is the final reminder that any HS band members  interested in auditioning for the Ohio State University Honor Band should see Mrs. Olis for a nomination form ASAP. Forms are due next Tuesday, October 31.

   OHIO UNIVERSITY MARCHING 110 CONCERT: Mrs. Olis announced at Season in Review that GHHS band students and their families are invited to join a group attending the Ohio University "Marching 110" concert at the Palace Theatre in downtown Columbus on Tuesday, November 21. Click here for more details and to submit a form expressing your interest if you want to join the fun!
