Hello GH Band families! Just a few notes this week from the GHBPA GLOVES: Debbie York and Elizabeth Watters, our fall uniform committee chairs, have asked me to remind you that since the band is transitioning to its traditional/formal uniform this week, all band members, except percussion, will need to wear white gloves on Friday. Students who purchased gloves from the Band Parents last spring/summer and have already paid for them will receive their gloves with their uniforms this week before the game (NOTE: this includes all freshmen). A limited number of gloves will also be for sale at the band room for $3 per pair when uniforms are distributed on Friday. Exact change and/or small bills will be appreciated. If your student is an upperclassman and you don't remember if you already ordered new gloves, you can confirm with Debbie ([email protected]) or Elizabeth ([email protected]).
ALSO, SOCKS: As Mr. Herrmann’s email noted this week, “Long White Socks” are a necessary uniform item for Friday when we bust out the new fall uniforms for the very first time. If your family is new to band, like mine is, you might have wondered if you missed a uniform item purchase. Not to worry, you didn't! Unlike the band’s gloves and shoes, which the BPA does sell and which need to match everyone else, any socks will do as long as they are (you guessed it) both long and white. No stripes, colors, or patterns, and no short or crew length socks, please. CONCESSIONS/VOLUNTEER SIGNUPS: Just a quick note that we only need four more adult volunteers this week for volunteer slots, all in concessions. Please visit the signup genius if you can help: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090f4baea62cab9-2017 OX ROAST PERFORMANCE: Finally, a reminder that the GHHS Marching Band will perform at the pit lighting ceremony at the Bobcat Boosters’ Ox Roast at Pierce Field following Friday night’s game. As the football game is ending on Friday, Mr. Herrmann will advise all band members what time they need to be at Stevenson Elementary to form up for the Ox Roast appearance. Band members will be responsible for getting themselves there. Comments are closed.
