BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Good morning, Band families! We hope your students spent the weekend resting up and getting ready for the school year and marching band season - it will be here before you

know it! 

1. DECAL DRIVE: Please consider volunteering to help with the Marching Band's annual Decal Drive - typically the biggest fundraiser of the year for the GH Band Parents Association. Volunteers are needed to help drive student groups around town and supervise them while they go door to door soliciting donation in support of our instrumental music programs. The event this year is on Sunday, August 21 from 5pm to 7pm, and the signupgenius is available by clicking here. We appreciate your help!
2. SPONSORSHIPS: If you or someone you know owns or participates in a local business that might be interested in sponsoring our instrumental music programs, click here for more information about the benefits of sponsorship. You can share this information with your contacts yourself, or we're happy to help you with the approach if you want. Please contact BPA president Dot Keil if you want us to assist!
3. CONCESSIONS VOLUNTEERING, COMING SOON! Another big chunk of the BPA's fundraising comes from staffing the concession stand for Bobcats home football games. Home games this year fall on the following dates: Aug 26, Sep 2, Sep 9, Sep 16, Oct 7, and Oct 14. We will have a signupgenius to share soon, and we will ask (beg, cajole, and plead with) you all to help by filling up those slots, so please mark your calendars and plan accordingly.
4. UPCOMING SCHEDULE: Finally, here is a reminder of the upcoming schedule for GHHS Marching Band students....

• August 1, 3, 8, 10 (Mon./Wed.): evening marching band rehearsals
• August 2, National Night Out performance
• August 10 (Wed.): Marching Band picture day
• August 14 (Sun.): Falco Park Concert
• August 15: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
• August 18: Bobcats football @ Centennial
