BAND PARENTS UPDATE

Good morning, Marching Band families, and HAPPY BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK! Hope that everyone enjoyed last night's season kickoff concert at Falco Park. Here's what

coming this week as we send our Bobcats back to school on Wednesday.

1. PICTURE DAY: today is photo day for all fall athletic organizations, including the GHHS Marching Band. Please remind your student to be at the school at 2pm. A formal group photo of the entire group will be taken, in addition to individual photos of each senior, for the senior banners that hang at every home football game. Seniors should print out the Senior Bannd Flyer from the documents page of the band web site and bring it with them. NO NEED to send money, as the Band Parents Association will be paying for Band seniors' banners. 
2. BAND PARENTS MEETING: the next meeting of the GH Band Parents Association is this Thursday, August 15, at 6:30pm in the GHHS Band Room (enter through breezeway doors off of Fairview Ave). Please join us to learn more about how you can help support our amazing GH bands program!
3. CONCESSION AND OTHER FALL VOLUNTEERING: just a reminder to be on the lookout for the next signupgenius, coming your way soon. The Band Parents operate the concession stands for all Bobcat home football games, and there are numerous other volunteer needs during football season as well. Concessions is a significant fundraiser for the BPA, and more than thirty parent volunteers are required for every home game, for concessions roles alone. There will be more than 300 total volunteer slots available throughout the football season between concessions, uniform distribution and check-in, senior banners, and a few other miscellaneous roles. Please feel free to claim as many as you want - because  we (truly) need all the help we can get. NOTE FOR UNDERCLASSMEN PARENTS: your help is especially important for the Homecoming game (Sep 20) and Band Senior Night (Oct 18), when the parents of some/all of our seniors will be unavailable for volunteering. Please help if you are able.
