BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Greetings, GH Bands families, and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the members of our 8th Grade Band for their fun and exciting appearance on Friday night with the GHHS

Marching Band during halftime of the Bobcats' football game. It was so much fun to see our future members of the Pride of Grandview Heights on the field and in action with the current version! (If you missed the show, check out the video, available here.) Here's what else is new......

1. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!! The Band Parents are THRILLED to share that, thanks to our strong fundraising this fall, we are able to provide an exciting new opportunity for the students in ALL OF OUR BANDS. On Friday, November 5, GHBPA will be sponsoring a field trip to see the Ohio State University Marching Band in concert at Mershon Auditorium on the nearby OSU campus. The OSUMB will be presenting their annual youth concert (read more about it here) at 10:00am, and our students will be in the audience! This fun and educational opportunity includes ALL BAND STUDENTS in grades 5-12 (including all jazz ensemble, concert band, and marching band members at the HS level). More details will be coming soon, including permission slips, lunch arrangements, departure and return times, covid safety precautions, and so on. But in the meantime we just couldn't wait to share this exciting news with all of you. And we also want to say a BIG thanks to the many, MANY of you who helped out with fundraising efforts that helped make this all possible!
2. REMINDER TO THE FAMILIES OF SENIOR BAND MEMBERS: In preparation for recognizing our Marching Band seniors on senior night (Friday, Oct 22), you and your student should work together to complete this document. Please ensure you click through and respond to allquestions, so that we can properly recognize your student and the family members who will accompany them that evening.
3. CONCESSION VOLUNTEERS: We still need another volunteer for this week's JV game - please visit the signupgenius here if you can help. And hey, while you're there, feel free to fill in a few more empty slots with your name so we can finish the season strong!
