BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

FAMILIES! We've almost made it! Congratulations on almost surviving the school year - hang in there, I know you can do it.....

And, in the meantime, here are a few notes from the GH Band Parents!

1. SENIORS, PLEASE RSVP: The GHBPA is hosting its annual picnic for graduating jazz/band/orchestra seniors and their directors on May 21 (click here for full details), and we are still missing NINE seniors' RSVPs. Mrs. Olis and Mr. Stanley will be there, and are looking forward to seeing as many seniors as possible. IF YOU HAVE A SENIOR WHO HAS NOT YET RSVP'D PLEASE ASK THEM TO CLICK HERE AND DO SO ASAP. We really need your help with this - even if your student can't be there, it is helpful for us to know that for planning purposes.
2. SPEAKING OF SENIORS: This week and next we are recognizing our graduating seniors in our GH Band Parents Facebook group. Join us there if you haven't already, to celebrate the class of 2023! (If you are not already a member, search GHBandParents and ask to join, and please remember to let us know who your student is, since we use that question to screen out strangers.) 
3. BAND CAMP MATERIALS: If you have a 2023 GHHS Marching Band student, please note that we do plan to get Band Camp information out to you very soon, with apologies for the delay! It's been a bit more challenging to plan this year since we continue to not have a Band Camp chairperson and we also still have our director on leave - so we are ironing out final details as we speak. As a reminder, we CAN share the following basic information: pre-Camp rehearsals will be held the week of July 17 at GHHS, and Band Camp is a sleepaway week at Otterbein University from July 23 through July 28. The cost to families is $275 per student, $250 for the second student from the same household, and a $550 cap per family. Pleasee also plan to volunteer, since it takes a village to have a Band Camp! Watch your in-box for more details very soon.
4. COME JOIN US! The May meeting of the GH Band Parents will be THIS THURSDAY, MAY 18 at 6:30pm in the GHHS Band Room (enter from the Fairview Ave door). This is the FINAL meeting of the school year, and we do need to elect new officers for 23-24. Looking for a new way to get involved? Please come and learn more about it! We are open to all - middle or high school, orchestra, jazz, or band. If you have an instrumental music student in your family, we want you! There are rumors of a BPA social hour after this meeting at a local watering hole, which will be WAY more fun if YOU are there for it. Hope to see you!
