BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Hello, Grandview Band families! A few quick updates and reminders below from the GH Band Parents Association. ​

1. HS PICTURE DAY: as a reminder, the GHHS Marching Band will have their formal fall group photo taken today, Monday Aug 9. Please refer to Mr. Herrmann's email (available here if you can't find your copy) for accurate times and other important details. Parents who wish to order copies of the photos should use this order form, or may order directly online using this link and order code 61479DA. IMPORTANT: other than our seniors, no one will have individual photos taken unless they specifically request them, so if you want to order an individual shot of Junior in his/her marching duds, please make sure that Junior is aware and arrives in time to have it taken. 
2. FALCO PARK CONCERT: The GHHS Marching Band kicks off its 2021 performance season on Sunday, August 15 at Falco Park in Marble Cliff at 7pm. Mr. Herrmann will supply relevant details about dress and report time for HS students - but this is a heads up to all of our readers that the concert is free and open to the public. Families with middle school band students, this is a great way to inspire your kiddo to stay engaged and interested in the band experience, since they can see the older students up close and in person. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, and join us for the fun!
3. DECAL DRIVE: As this group already knows, the Decal Drive is coming up very soon on August 25. HS students and parent volunteers will go door to door that day soliciting donations, but everyone here can also help with the effort. Spread the word to all of your friends and family - you don't have to be local to support our band students! Your contacts can donate directly using the "donate" button on the front page of our web site, or you can share this flier with them which includes a QR code that paypal users can access. No need to wait until August 22 to get started, either - every dollar raised helps us support all levels of the band program, so we appreciate your help!
4. CONCESSIONS: Finally, a continuing reminder that we need your help to run the concessions stands at the Bobcat home football games this year. Please visit the signupgenius today, and add your name! Middle school and jazz ensemble parents welcome, too!
