BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Good morning, Grandview Heights band families! LOTS of important events coming up soon, looking forward to having your help with all of it. Read on.....

1. DECAL DRIVE: YOUR HELP IS URGENTLY NEEDED! The GHHS Marching Band Decal Drive is the single largest fundraiser of the year and it requires LOTS of parental volunteer support. Please click here and add your name to the signupgenius. The Drive this year is ONLY NINE DAYS AWAY, on Sunday, July 28, from 6-8pm and there are still lots of empty volunteer slots. 2. NEW BAND PARENT ORIENTATION: just a reminder that if you or your student are a freshman or otherwise new to Marching Band, we are planning a very brief orientation session for this Sunday, July 21 at 12:15pm in the HS staff lounge. Join us to learn all about Marching Band, Band Parents, volunteer opportunities, and any other questions you may have. (This is 100% voluntary, not mandatory, so don't stress if you can't be there.)
3. BAND CAMP: hard to believe, but it's time for BAND CAMP! Report times on Sunday July 21 are as follows: freshmen 12-12:30pm, sophomores 12:30-1pm, juniors 1-1:30pm, and seniors 1:30-2pm. Once checked in, students may not leave the school again. Everything else you could possibly need to know about Band Camp is available in the 2019 Band Camp Newsletter here, including a packing list (p7) and Band Camp rules (p8). NOTE that Wittenberg has confirmed that the pool will be open, so your student should pack a swimsuit/towel. In addition, if you are chaperoning overnight at Band Camp next week, please remember that WE LOVE YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH, and also that instructions for chaperoning are available here.
