Band parents' update

Good morning, GH Band families, and CONGRATULATIONS to the members, families, and fans of our STATE CHAMPION GRANDVIEW BOBCATS BOYS' SOCCER TEAM!

What an exciting and proud moment for our whole community! 

1. THERE'S GONNA BE A PARADE! To honor our State Champs, the school and community are planning a parade and recognition ceremony for this Wednesday, 11/17. The parade will step off at 4:30 PM from the middle school parking lot, and follow the usual Homecoming parade route (east on First Ave, north on Grandview Ave, west on Third Ave and into the HS football stadium), and the recognition ceremony will be in the Stadium immediately after. The GHHS Marching Band will participate, and Mr. Herrmann will share specifics on call time and uniform in a separate message. But everyone should mark their calendars to take part in this fun community event!
2. THIS TIME WE MEAN IT: After a slight delay to accommodate our soccer team's amazing run to the State title, our Middle School Bands will take center stage this week on Tuesday 11/16, to give their first live performances since pre-pandemic times. Woo hoo! Need information about what your student should weart? Find it here. The 5th and 6th grade bands should report at 5:45pm (5th grade to the NEW Middle School gym, and 6th grade to the choir room in the NEW middle school). The 7th and 8th grade students should report at 6:45pm (7th grade to the NEW Middle School gym, and 8th grade to the choir room in the NEW middle school). Performances will be at 6pm and 7pm, respectively. See you there!
3. CONCERT PROGRAM: REMINDER that you can find the program for Tuesday night's concert here and bookmark it in advance or print your own copy, OR we will also have a QR code available for scanning that evening. We do not plan to provide hard copy programs on the night of the event, so please plan accordingly.
4. BAND PARENTS MEETING CANCELED: The regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Band Parents Association (had been set for this Thu 11/18) will be canceled this month, given the high level of activity for band families this week and the low number of pressing agenda items.
