BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Greetings, GH Band families! Not much to say this week, but what we do have is REALLY IMPORTANT. Please sign up to assist with fall volunteering, asap!

1. FALL VOLUNTEERING: the fall concession and other volunteeringsignupgeniuses are NOW AVAILABLE!  Please visit early and often. Note that these are two distinct signups, so feel free to pick slots from one or both. We have a total of about 300 volunteer slots over the course of the football season, so if everyone does their part and takes two or three slots right now, we can have them filled up in no time! ("Other" volunteering includes hanging and taking down senior banners for home games, riding the bus as a chaperone for away games, and helping to load and unload instruments at GHHS on travel nights.) Reminder that underclassmen parents are especially needed for homecoming (Sep 20) and senior night (Oct 18) concessions coverage - but really, we can use you all, all the time and any time. Concessions is a huge fundraiser for the BPA and hers pay for camp expenses, instrument repairs, music selections, and lots of other things, for all our kids. Now's the time, folks, all hands on deck! Thank you thank you thank you for your support and assistance - we really couldn't do this without you. 
2. HANDBOOK: the 2019-2020 Bobcat Bands Student Handbook is now available on the documents page of the Band web site. All GHHS band students and one parent are required to review it and sign the Agreement at the back of the book by August 26. Among other things, this will authorize your student to travel to away games with the band, so if the Agreement isn't signed before the first away game (Sep 6, at Africentric), your student will not be able to travel.
