BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Hello GH families and welcome back from spring break, we hope it was a great one! This is a VERY BIG WEEK for us and we need your help to make it all a success. Please

read on!

1. CAKE WALK VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED! Cake Walk is THIS FRIDAY, friends, and we still have way too many gaps on our signupgenius. Please, if you have not signed up yet, consider clicking here and claiming a slot or two, and encourage all of your friends who are band/orchestra parents to do the same. This is a significant fundraiser for our organization and we use these funds to support programming for all band and orchestra students across all grades. Need more info about Cake Walk? It's all available on our web site, by clicking here! If you are interested, you can also read about some of the activities GHBPA has sponsored for students this year by clicking here. 
2. SEVEN/EIGHTH GRADE FIELD TRIP: On Saturday, May 6, our seventh and eighth grade band and orchestra students will perform in their groups for a professional adjudicator and then travel together to King's Island for the day. Full details are available on our web site by clicking here, but the important deadlines this week are Weds April 12 (permission slip due - find it in your ParentSquare account) and Fri April 14 (payment due via SPSEZPay - click on the "Activity Fees" tab). Want to chaperone for the day? Reply to this email or contact your student's teacher to volunteer - your ticket will be free! 
3. SENIORS: if you have a senior in your home, please, please, PLEASEask them to fill out the form they can find by clicking here - no later than tomorrow, Tue April 11. We use this information to develop our senior recognition program for the students' final concerts (which go to the printer this week), and we are still missing nearly half of the seniors!
4. OTHER CAKE WALK DETAILS: Just a reminder that all families are asked to donate one cake per band/orchestra student; these may be dropped off at the GHHS gym any time after 3pm on Friday. In addition, BAND STUDENTS IN GRADES 7-12 will perform during the event. Your students' instructor will provide full details on what to wear and when to report. Additional information is available on our web site by clicking here.
5. 
   HIGH SCHOOL SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Finally, we would like to encourage ALL of our high school musicians to consider assisting the Bobcat Boosters this Saturday April 15 with their annual mulch sale fundraiser. The Boosters organization provides support to all students in Grandview in some or fashion, so we are sure your student has benefited from their efforts. In addition, volunteering will get your student four hours of service credit! Meet in the the parking lot behind 815 Grandview Ave. at 7:30am - dress to get dirty and bring work gloves if you have them. Free donuts and a cookout afterwards.
