BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Happy Thanksgiving week, GH families. Just a couple of quick notes from the Band Parents Association as we head off into this holiday break - please read on.

1. 5th and 6th GRADE PERMISSION SLIPS! As of this writing, approximately 23 of our 5/6 grade band and orchestra students have NOT returned a permission slip for the December 2nd field trip to Ohio State. Please ensure your student is not one of them, or they will NOT be able to go on the trip! (Find the form in your ParentSquare account under permission/forms - or contact your student's director for confirmation if you aren't sure.)
2. I LOVE A PARADE! The City of Grandview and the school district have organized a parade and championship ceremony for our STATE CHAMPION Bobcat Boys' Soccer Team! The GHHS Marching Band will participate, and all community members are invited to join the celebration as well. The event will be on Tuesday November 29, with the parade stepping off at 4:30pm. Fans are encouraged to line the parade route (Oakland to 1st to Grandview to 3rd, and into the Stadium), and then follow the Band and team into the stadium for the ceremony. 3. OHIO WINDS PERFORMANCE: There's been so much great stuff going on, we almost missed reporting on this one. Earlier this month, the Ohio Winds faculty sextet from Oho University came to Grandview Heights! Consisting of flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and horn, the group gave a performance for GH instrumental students to showcase professional level chamber music. Check out the photos on our web site!
   4. GHHS MARCHING BAND, Soccer Championship Celebration, November 29
   Uniform: Grandview (or navy/gray) tops, jeans/leggings/shorts, athletic shoes
   Band Room Opens: 4:00pm
   Call/Warm Up: 4:10pm
   Parade Step Off: 4:30pm
   Parade Route: Oakland to First to Grandview to Third to Stadium (same as Homecoming)
   End of Celebration: TBA
