REMINDER that the Calendar is available here.
Hello! If you are receiving this message, it’s because we understand you to have a fifth grade band student in the Grandview Heights Schools. If you don’t, please let me know that by reply email, and I will remove you from my mailing list.
1. WHY AM I WRITING? The Grandview Heights Band Parents Association normally uses a tool called “Charms" to, among other things, communicate with the families of our band students. I have recently learned that the fifth grade students were never successfully entered into Charms this year, however. In en effort to stay connected with you all, I have assembled an email list using the 2017 “Friend Finder” and the 2018 5th Grade Band roster. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO REMOVE YOUR ADDRESS FROM MY MAILING LIST, please just reply to this message and let me know that. Conversely, if there are other addresses that you would like me to add, please let me know that as well. 2. POLO SHIRT ORDERS: Middle school band members wear navy blue “GH Bands” logo polo shirts for all performances, which are available for purchase only from the Band Parents Association. Because your student has not been entered into Charms, you are not able to order online. We apologize for this inconvenience. The order form is available here, please complete and return it, along with your check for $15, on or before October 12 to ensure your child has a shirt in time for the first concert. If your student is using a handed down shirt from an older sibling or family friend, we ask that you still return the order form and indicate same, so we know that your student is accounted for. 3. OTHER COMMUNICATIONS METHODS: in addition to good old-fashioned email, the BPA uses the GH Bands web site as well as Facebook and Twitter to keep families informed. We post all emails from the band director and the BPA on the web site blog, right here. Our Facebook group, GHBandParents, is private, so you will need to search for us and then send a request to join. The Twitter feed, @BandHts, is open to all. Please choose the method that works best for you and your family. 4. WELCOME TO THE BAND PARENTS: finally last, but maybe I should have said first, welcome to the BPA! As an adult family member of a Grandview Heights band student, you are a member of the BPA. We welcome you to join us for one of our monthly meetings, and encourage you to consider getting involved as a parent volunteer. Read more about us on the web site, where you can also find our meeting schedule. And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to let me know. Thanks, all! Questions? Let me know!
