BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Greetings, Grandview Band families! Sure was great to see the HS bands get to return to live performances last week - it's been a long time coming! Here are a few quick

updates from the GHBPA as we approach the end of the school year (yikes!). 

1. NEXT YEAR: Hard as it is to believe, we are planning for next school year already. Although there are still many pandemic-related wildcards, we are hopeful that our band students will experience more of the "normal" band activities this summer and fall. (If you need a refresher on what "normal" looked like in the "before times," click here.) For students planning to continue with HS band next fall, that starts with summer uniform fittings. Volunteers from the Band Parents Association will be at school at the end of this week to fit your students for summer band uniform items, which must be purchased through the BPA unless your student has hand-me-downs from a sibling or friend. More information on cost and ordering coming soon.
2. HOW YOU CAN HELP: speaking of those uniform fittings, we could use some help with that. If you have flexibility in your day on Thursday or Friday between 1:30pm and 3:00pm and would be willing to lend a hand, please email Jennifer Marcellana for more details and to offer your help. She will be very grateful! 
3. WE NEED YOU: speaking of needing some help, we still have a criticalneed to fill a few positions on the BPA board and committees for next year. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. If we don't get a few more volunteers it will be very hard for the BPA to provide the same level of support and programming that we have done for the students in the past. It takes a village to raise a band program - so please volunteer! Just reply to this email if you are willing to help . . . .we have all kinds of roles available, at all different levels of time commitment and responsibility.
