BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Good morning families, and it looks like we've made it! I know I say this every year at this time, but I simply can't believe the school year is coming to an end, and I know you

are right there with me. Please read on for a few important updates from the Band Parents Associatin as we close out the year - including everything you may need to know about BAND CAMP!

1. BEST WISHES TO OUR SENIORS: To our families with graduating seniors, best wishes to them as the move on to life after GHHS! Unless you have a younger band or orchestra student, this will be your last message from the Band Parents Association. Thank you so much for sharing your student with us, and for all of the contributions of time, treasure, blood, sweat, tears, and (of course!) cakes that your family has made over the years. We are TRULY grateful. CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2023!
2. BAND CAMP BAND CAMP BAND CAMP! Yes, you read that right - it's finally time to talk about GHHS BAND CAMP! If you have a student participating in the 2023 edition of The Pride of the Bobcats, the Grandview Heights High School Marching Band, you can click here to find all the details you need to know about the Band Camp and pre camp schedule, forms to fill out, cost, and how to prepare for Band Camp.WOOOOO HOO! Thank you for your patience as we pulled these details together this year. Please note that your student's forms and payment are due June 30. If you have any questions or concerns not covered in the materials, please feel free to reply to this email.
3. SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: Is your student looking for ways to continue playing their instrument this summer, but you aren't sure where to point them? Well, wonder no more! As in previous years, we have assembled a bunch of summer extended learning opportunities for band and orchestra students, all in one place on our web site - you can find them by clicking here. 
4. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW SQUAD LEADERS! Mrs. Olis recently announced Squad Leader appointments for the 2023 edition of the GHHS Marching Band. These students are selected based on their leadership, attitude, and musicianship, and will play an important role in helping shape and develop the Marching Band and lead their peers before and during the rigors of marching season. The Band Parents Association is thrilled to congratulate the following GHHS MB Squad Leaders for 2023: Steve Chordas, Carmen Cunningham, Annabel Dimes, Freddie Keil, Quinn Markle, Ben Matter, Sean McKelvey, Eryn O'Harra, Colin Parker, Sam Reichert, Ben Ritzman, Liv Rutter, Lucas Schmied, Sophia Szabo-Ramsey, Jeremy Wurster, and Alex Young.Way to go Bobcats, we are looking forward to a great year!
