BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Good morning, GHHS band families, and welcome to the last week of summer - which as usual has flown by. Here are some news and notes and reminders from the GH Band

Parents. 

1. DECAL DRIVE: We are almost there, just need three more volunteers! If you are available on August 21, we could really use your help. Click here for the signupgenius. 
2. MARCHING BAND SPONSORS: In conjunction with the Decal Drive, we are also looking for local businesses who would be willing to sponsor our instrumental music programs. Have a contact at a local business? Feel free to approach them yourself using the info you can find by clicking here on our web site, or reach out to BPA President Dot Keil and she will be glad to assist with the conversation. 
3. PICTURE DAY LOGISTICS: The GHHS Marching Band will have formal photos taken this Wednesday, August 10. Students should report to the uniform room as follows: SENIORS at 1:00pm, freshmen and other new members at 1:15pm, all other members at 1:30pm. Seniors will have individual banner photos taken beginning at 1:15pm, and the full group photo will be taken in the Stadium at 2:15pm. ALL STUDENTS should remember to bring their long white socks, marching shoes, AND THEIR INSTRUMENTS.

   NEXT BAND PARENTS MEETING: The Band Parents Association will hold its next meeting on Wednesday August 10 at 6pm in the Media Center of the NEW Middle School. Got a great idea for a fundraiser? Itching to get more involved and volunteer? Just have quesitons that need answers? Want to spend more time with Dot Keil? (WHO DOESN'T??) Join us on Wednesday evening! Hope to see you there. 
5. SCHEDULE REMINDERS: Finally, here is a reminder of the upcoming schedule for GHHS Marching Band students.

• August 8, 10 (Mon./Wed.): evening marching band rehearsals
• August 10 (Wed.): Marching Band picture day
• August 14 (Sun.): Falco Park Concert
• August 15: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
• August 18: Bobcats football @ Centennial
• August 21: Decal Drive
