BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

11/2/2021

Good morning, GH Bands families! THIS IS THE WEEK! Our all-bands field trip to Ohio State is this Friday November 5, and we couldn't be more excited. Please read below for
important reminders on the trip and other upcoming events.
  1. PERMISSION SLIPS: As of this writing, we are still missing signed permission slips for a handful of band students. If you received an individual reminder message this weekend and still have not submitted your student's permission slip, you can find it here. Please print, sign and return to your student's band director ASAP.
  2. LUNCH ORDERS: As a reminder, the students will be gone from school during their regular lunch period, and the Food Services team will be providing "grab and go" lunches for them to eat upon their return to school around 1pm. There are three lunch options available (PB&J, Italian sub, chef's salad), and you can place your student's lunch order here. Students who do not submit the form by the end of day tomorrow (Weds Nov 3) will have a PB&J lunch prepared for them as the default choice, so PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM EVEN IF YOUR STUDENT WILL PACK THEIR OWN LUNCH (you can select that as an option in the form). That will help keep us from making unneeded lunches.
  3. CHAPERONES: If you have volunteered to chaperone, you will receive more detailed instructions later this week - but you should plan to assemble at 8am on Friday morning in the Commons of the OLD Larson Middle School. Don't forget your mask!
  4. MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERTS: Last but certainly not least, our field trip is not the ONLY exciting event on the horizon - just a reminder that next week, our middle school band students will be giving their first live, in-person performances in two years! That means, of course, that for all of our 5th and 6th grade band students, this will be a first - and I imagine that all of their families are just as excited as mine is to see their students have the opportunity to share what they have been learning! Mark those calendars now for Wednesday November 10 at 6pm (5th and 6th grades) and 7pm (7th and 8th grades) in the "Bandnasium" at the NEWLarson Middle School (the building that the high school students are currently using).
