1. HOW DO YOU CAKE WALK? Have you visited the signupgenius to sign up for Cake Walk yet? If not, what are you waiting for? The Band Parents are grateful to all of the parents who have already volunteered, but we still need more, more, more. Please remind your friends, neighbors, spouses, and the people you see on the street, as we’re counting on all of you to make this night a big success. The event is on Friday, April 5, from 6:30 to 9:30pm in the High School gym – but note too that there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer outside of those three hours, if for some reason you are unable to help on the night of the event. Click here to find out how you can help. Thanks!
2. BIG CONCERT WEEK: this week is a huge one in the Grandview Heights band program, with three concerts on three consecutive nights. It all begins on Tuesday, with the High School concert band at 7pm. All four middle school bands (grades 5-8) will perform on Weds evening, beginning at 6pm. And the HS Jazz Ensemble, with featured artist Bryan Olsheski, will take the stage on Thursday evening at 7pm. All performances are in the GHHS auditorium. Mr. Herrmann has shared details for all grades about report times and concert dress via email (find that info here, on the web site blog). Join us for all three nights, it should be a great week of music-making! 3. BAND CAMP IS COMING: if you have a rising 9-12 grade student who plans to participate in HS marching/concert band next fall, preparations for this summer’s Band Camp are underway. The 2019 Band Camp newsletter is available here, as well as all necessary forms. Hard copies of the newsletter will also be available at the Tuesday and Wednesday concerts. Please be aware that all forms and payment are due by June 28 (which will be here sooner than you think!). 4. NURSE STILL NEEDED: we are still in search of a camp nurse for Band Camp week (July 21-26). Please contact Bridget Kahle at [email protected]or 614-800-1974 if you are a nurse, or know a nurse, who might be interested in this paid position. Thanks, all! Questions? Let me know!
