BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Hello, 2023 Marching Band families! We hope that you and your students are enjoying the summer that is already flying by - but Band Camp will be here before you know it

and then the real fun begins! Please read on for important info and reminders.

1. BAND CAMP REMINDERS: Please remember that Band Camp forms and payment are due by June 30 (which is now less than three weeks away!). Pretty much everything you need to know about Band Camp, including links to register and pay for your student, is available to you by clicking here, on the Band Camp pages of our web site. Got a question that isn't answered there? Reply to this email or contact Mrs. Olis directly. We are super excited about Band Camp, and happy to help in any way we can!
2. NOT GOING TO CAMP? We need to know that too. For camp planning purposes, and also because we still need to order a row shirt for your kiddo, we ask ALL GHHS Marching Band families to click here and fill out this form, regardless of your Band Camp attendance status. (Please note that anyone who is unable to attend camp should also be communicating separately with Mrs. Olis about your situation - we Band Parents plan the camp logistics, but managing/excusing student attendance is solely up to Mrs. Olis.) In short, we need a form submitted for each student, even if they are not attending Camp.
3. WE ALSO NEED VOLUNTEERS: As a reminder, Band Camp cannot happen without a number of adult volunteers to help us out, including as overnight chaperones in the dorms during the week of camp as well as various other roles. Please click here to visit the signupgenius and add your name if you can (with a HUGE thanks to the parents who have already done so!!). Please remember that you will need a current background check on file with the District in order to help out; please click here to check your status.

   BAND PARENTS MEETING: The first official meeting of the 2023-24 GH Band Parents is this Thursday, June 15 at 6:30pm in the GHHS Band Room (enter through the external band room door facing Fairview Ave).WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE! We still have an open seat on the board and a couple of other leadership opportunities available, if you are looking for ways to help out this coming year. Please join us!
