BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Greetings, GH Bands families - what an exciting time it is for our band students! Our GHHS Jazz Ensemble had an awesome first concert last Wednesday, and then we had a

great time celebrating our Marching Band seniors on Friday night, sending them off with a terrific halftime performance of the Senior Show that they helped plan. The GHHS Marching Band will perform their annual Season in Review this week (weather permitting). And now we are less than two weeks away from our All-Bands field trip to Ohio State! Read on for important details on all of these activities. 

1. FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIPS: Thank you to the 67 students who are so excited to go to OSU they have already returned their permissions slips! We still need to hear from 155 more of you. Students without a signed permission slip on file will not be permitted to go on the field trip. Please click here to print a copy if your student didn't bring one home. Permission slips are due back to your student's band teacher this Friday, October 29. 
2. FIELD TRIP DAY LUNCH: Because the students will be away from school during their regular lunch period, the Food Services team will provide lunch to all Band students upon their return from Ohio State, free of charge to you. Please click here to submit your student's preferred lunch order online. Students who do not submit an order by November 3will receive PB&J as their default choice. PLEASE NOTE that students may bring their own lunch from home, but we still ask you to fill out the form so we do not have a lunch prepared for them. 
3. FIELD TRIP CHAPERONES: We need just a few more parents to serve as chaperones for this field trip, which will involve riding the bus with students as well as enjoying the concert with them (masks required on buses and at OSU). Departure from the school will be around 8:30am on Friday November 5, with anticipated return time around 1:00pm. If you can help, please email Dot Keil or just reply to this message. 
4. SEASON IN REVIEW: The GHHS Marching Band will present their "Season in Review" performance on Thursday 10/28 at 7pm in Bobcat Stadium, performing all of their shows from the past football season. Admission is free and this event is open to the public - this is a terrific opportunity to bring your middle school band students to see the Marching Band in action! We will not be printing concert programs for this event; you can find the program here and either bookmark it for reference or print your own copy in advance, or we will have a QR code available to scan at the event. NOTE that there is no rain location for this event. Cancellation due to inclement weather will be announced by 5pm on Thursday, on the GH Band Parents Facebook page and web site. 
5. PHOTOS AND VIDEO: Check out the photos and videos from Friday night's GHHS Marching Band performance, available here on our web site. Photos can be downloaded free of charge, and there are some great shots of seniors and their families as well as other Marching Band members in action. Make sure you click through all the images to look for your kiddo! Video also available from the Friday night halftime performance as well as the Jazz Ensemble concert from earlier in the week.
