BAND PARENTS' UPDATE

Hello GH Band and Orchestra families! It's Homecoming week in Grandview Heights and there is lots to discuss - please read on!

1. MIDDLE SCHOOL SHIRT ORDERS: The middle school band and orchestra directors have decided that students will wear navy blue (for the band) and black (for the orchestra) GH logo t-shirts for all performances going forward. To ensure uniformity, these shirts must be purchased through the GH Band Parents organization. CLICK HERE for the order form. Because these shirts are new for this academic year, ALL BAND STUDENTS IN GRADES 5-7 and ALL ORCHESTRA STUDENTS IN GRADES 5-8 MUST ORDER A SHIRT. Orders must be received by October 16 for delivery in time for the first concerts. Shirts will be delivered to your student at school, and the cost to families is $10 per shirt. Please contact your student's director if financial assistance is needed. 
2. GHHS MARCHING BAND FRIDAY BAND SPREAD: GH Band Parents Karen and Adam Smith have generously offered to host a pre-performance meal for the GHHS Marching Band at their home (1228 Wyandotte Rd) on Friday, October 7 before the Homecoming Parade and football game. 3. VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED: Speaking of helping out - it's a home game this Friday, and you know what that means! We still have six or seven empty slots for volunteers in the concession stand. PLEASE help out if you can - click here for the signupgenius. 
4. HOMECOMING PARADE: Finally, just a remidner for the families of younger students on our distribution list - don't forget to bring the kids out for the Homecoming parade on Friday evening to cheer on the GHHS Marching Band. The typical parade route in past years has started in the middle school parking lot, proceeded down First Ave to Grandview, then Grandview Ave to Third and back to the football stadium, usually starting around 6pm. Hope to see you there!
