BAND PARENTS UPDATE
This message was sent to all GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS BAND FAMILIES.
1. WANTED, YOUR INPUT: we’ve put together a short survey to gauge your interest in
various volunteer opportunities. It’s available here, on the Band Parents web site. We’d be grateful if you, your spouse, and any other adult family member in the house would take a few minutes to fill it out in the next few days. (Note that each individual should submit their own form.) A list of all BPA Board and Chair positions is attached to this message, for your information. Thanks in advance for your input and assistance!
2. HS SPRING CONCERT: the GHHS bands will perform their final concert of the school year this Thursday April 26 at 7pm. (NOTE that a previous GHHS Week in Preview message contained an incorrect date. The correct date is Thursday April 26.) Band seniors will be recognized during the concert, after the Jazz Ensemble set and before the Concert Band’s performance.
3. HS UNIFORM UPDATE: reminder that all eighth graders who intend to be a part of the GHHS marching band this fall will be fitted for summer uniform items during their regular band class period on May 9. Students will not be measured (as previously communicated), but will instead try on sample items, over their clothes – so please have your band student dress accordingly, in something that they can easily slip a polo and loose athletic shorts over. Please also remind them to wear or bring socks for trying on shoes! Order forms will be made available shortly thereafter, and all orders will be due on June 1st. Any current HS student who would like to purchase new or replacement items will have the same deadline. Online ordering will also be available, and if your student has pass-down items (from a sibling or friend) you do not need to order new, so long as the passed down items are in good condition. (Word to the wise: keep an eye on the Band Parents Facebook page during the months of April and May, as parents of seniors will sometimes offer up their student's gently used shoes, etc.)
4. BAND CAMP: band camp forms continue to be available on the GH Bands web site, and are due July 1. Please begin working on them as soon as you can; the medical forms in particular can take time to complete. Sign ups for Band Camp volunteer opportunities coming soon, so stay tuned!
