BAND PARENTS UPDATE

Hello Band families! We still need LOADS of help, so if you haven't visited those signupgeniuses yet, please consider doing so SOON. Below are some other important ​

updates in this final week before the start of the 2023-24 school year.

1. UNIFORM FITTINGS: If you are a RISING SOPHOMORE who has not yet been fitted for your formal marching uniform and are able to come to the GHHS Band Room TONIGHT (Monday 8/7) between 7pm and 8pm, please do so. Volunteers will be available then to help get you fitted.
2. PHOTO DAY LOGISTICS: The Marching Band group photo will be taken this Wednesday, August 9 at 12:45pm in the GHHS football stadium. Freshman and new members should report to the Band Room at 11:45am to dress and prepare for the photo. All other members should report at 12:00pm. Students should wear their LONG white socks and their marching shoes (if they already have them) or tennis shoes if they don't. If you would like to purchase a photo please click here (use order code: 79828KT). PLEASE NOTE: if you order an individual photo of your student PLEASE TELL YOUR STUDENT TO GO TO THE AUDITORIUM TO HAVE THAT INDIVIDUAL PHOTO TAKEN before the group photo. No band members (including seniors) are required to have an individual photo taken, and most students typically will skip it unless a parent has told them to get it done. Every year, without fail, we have at least one disappointed parent who orders an individual photo and doesn't get it, because Junior never had one taken. Don't let this be you!
3. DECAL DRIVE: our fundraising is very much front-loaded at the beginning of the school year, as the annual Decal Drive will occur on Sunday August 20. HS Band and Orchestra students will go door to door seeking donations, and we need several adult volunteers to help as well. Please click here to visit the signup and claim your spot to help us out with this important fundraiser. (Please note that all driver volunteers will need a valid FBI background check on file with the school district.)
4. OTHER FALL VOLUNTEERING! The signup for other fall volunteering is available by clicking here. We are grateful for all who have signed up already, but there is still a lot of empty space! Please please PLEASE consider claiming some slots on it ASAP!
5. SPONSORSHIP: If you own a business or have a contact at a business that might be interested in sponsoring the instrumental music programs at Grandview Heights Schools, please click here for more information, and encourage your contacts to submit their sponsorship forms by August 11 for prime placement on the sponsorship banner we will display over the concessions stand at all home games. 6. FIRST PERFORMANCE! The GHHS Marching Band will make its 2023 debut at the traditional Falco Park concert on Sunday, August 13 at 7pm. This performance is free and open to the public, and the Band will play selections from shows in the upcoming season. Bring a chair or a blanket, and all your friends and family, to enjoy a great evening of music-making on this last Sunday evening before the start of the school year.
