BAND PARENTS' CAKE WEEK UPDATE - HS EDITION

Greetings, Bobcat band families! Normally we at Band Parents HQ try VERY HARD not to send more than one email per week, but this here is CAKE WEEK, and well, we have

updates to share. Please read on! Don't forget to visit the band web site for all your most up-to-date CAKE WEEK information - and while you're there click that DONATE button at the top of the page to add your support to our Band programs . . . .which is what it's all about!

1. WIN A PRIVATE BAND CONCERT! For the first time EVER, the Band Parents Association is auctioning a private music performance (approximately 20 minutes) by a select group of 20-25 GHHS marching band students who will come and play in your own front yard!. The date will be mutually agreed-upon with Director Herrmann between late August and October, 2021. Concert must be held in Grandview for travel purposes. Bidding is already active on the official CAKE WEEK Facebook Page, minimum increase is $25. (Bids will also be accepted by email and entered in the FB post as received.) This is a truly one-of-a kind experience! Tell your friends, neighbors, GHHS band alumni...who will be the lucky winner? Only time (and hopefully a bunch of $ for the band program) will tell.

   NO RING RAFFLE: No cake rings? No problem! Welcome to the No Ring Raffle! For every $10 donation made to the Band Parents Association through Sunday, May 2, you will be entered into a drawing for a cake. Since it is 2021, we will be giving away 21 cakes! Winners will be drawn at the May 5 band concert and posted on Facebook and the web site that evening. Be sure to include your email address when donating so we can contact you. Cakes will be delivered to local winners on Saturday, May 8. Visit the band web site and click on the "donate" button at the top of the page, or if you prefer to write a check, please send us an email to arrange. 
3. 
   CAKE DECORATING CONTEST: Dust off your baking tools and get ready to enter our annual Cake Decorating Competition! Prizes will be awarded in three categories (Most Bobcat Spirit, Most Creative and Best Music Theme), and two divisions (Adult and Student). There will be a separate post for each division on the official CAKE WEEK Facebook page. Post a photo of your decorated cake no later than noon on Sunday, May 2 for entry in the competition.
4. 
   DOOR DECORATING CONTEST: Give your front door a CAKEover! Show your CAKE WEEK and Grandview Band spirit by decking out the front door of your house. Post a photo on the CAKE WEEK Facebook page by Sunday, May 2 at noon to be considered for fabulous prizes! Consider using the Official Cake Week sign, available for download here.
