BAND DIRECTOR'S UPDATE

A tough loss for the Bobcats and a great performance by the GHMB at halftime!!!  We will perform show 1, “Sing-A-Long” one more time this Friday night with the goal of

debuting halftime show 2, “Dance Party USA” next week.

Flip Folders
Each band member received a flip folder from the band at the beginning of their freshman year.  The flip folder allows your student to conveniently keep their music organized and transport it easily.
If your student has misplaced their flip, it is their responsibility to replace it.  Flip folders are available from Stanton’s Sheet Music (330 South Fourth St), Music & Arts (Graceland Shopping Center), Buckeye Brass (7445 Montgomery Dr, Plain City), or online.  Flip folders come standard with 5 ‘windows.’  It is recommended you purchase extra windows to accommodate all the music distributed.  
Music/Flip Folders will be checked next Tuesday (and periodically throughout the season) and is calculated into your student’s grade as class preparation.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Evening Rehearsals
We have five more Evening Rehearsals for this season and that number will not increase.  All five rehearsals are considered required and will be calculated into your grade.  Exceptions to the requirement are (1) for athletes who have traveling matches which return later than 9:00PM, or, (2) on a case-by-case basis as needed.  Work and non-Grandview Heights activities should be scheduled around Evening Rehearsals; please submit the dates above to your work management or advisors.  
Our next night rehearsal is this Thursday, September 1st, 8:00-10:00PM.
**Please note that our evening rehearsal next week is TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th, 8:00-10:00PM. This change is to avoid sports games conflicts on Thursday.**

Summer Uniform
The band will continue performing in their Summer uniforms this week.  Consistency from student to student is very important.  All students are expected to follow these guidelines:

• All members will wear their white band polo, blue band shorts, short white socks, and white marching shoes.
• Members with long hair will have their hair up in a pony tail and/or french braid.
• Undershirts and/or tank tops should be white - avoid contrast colors or graphic prints.​

9/2 Home vs Northridge - 7:00PM
Uniform: Summer
Call Time: 5:45pm
    (use these 15 minutes to take equipment and personal belongings to the stadium)
Attendance/Warm-Up/Announcements: 6:00pm
March In: 6:30pm
Pregame: ~6:45pm
Kick Off: 7:00pm
