To all; The GHHS Bands will present our Winter Concerts next week! The Concert Band will perform on Tuesday, March 12 and the Jazz Ensemble will perform on Thursday, March 14. Below is a brief description of each program.
Concert Band - Winter Concert - Tuesday, March 12 Members of the Concert Band will be featured on this “Prism” concert. A prism concert presents all the colors and timbres the concert band has to offer. This includes chamber music by each section as well as prepared repertoire by the full ensemble. This concert will offer the listener a different perspective on formal concert music. Jazz Ensemble - Featured Artist Concert - Thursday, March 14 The Jazz Ensemble welcomes nationally-renowned tenor saxophonist Bryan Olsheski as featured guest artist - biography available - http://www.bryanolsheski.com/biography/. Members of the Jazz Ensemble have been preparing repertoire from varying styles in big band jazz as well as working with Bryan in rehearsals leading up to the performance. It has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to work with him.
