BAND DIRECTOR'S UPDATE

To all;
This email will detail the audition information for the 2018-2019 GH Jazz Ensemble.  We

 anticipate the following openings:

• 3 saxophones
• 4 trumpets
• Piano
• Bass

All students, grades 8-11, are eligible to audition for the 2018-2019 Jazz Ensemble.  Make sure you add it to your course request for next year.

The audition process includes the following:

1. Two major scales and one chromatic scale
2. Prepared Audition Excerpt
3. Sight Reading

Any students interested in auditioning will need to join the “Jazz Ensemble Audition Materials” group on Schoology.  The Access Code is 6VX57-X935M.  Students will sign into Schoology (https://ghcsd.schoology.com) using their district email and password.  After signing in; click on “Groups” then “Join” and enter the access code.  

Audition will be scheduled March 19-23 at the student’s convenience.  Timeslots will be available before and after school, as well as during high school lunch and AO.  Sign-ups for auditions will be posted beginning in March.
