BAND DIRECTOR'S UPDATE

ARE….GRANDVIEW!!!
With the exception of three small pep band performances at football games last fall, the members of the GHHS Bands have not performed a public concert since December 10, 2019. The emergency closing of schools in March was the weekend before our scheduled Music-in-Our-Schools Month concerts.  It is NOT lost on the students and staff how important this week is to you and the community.  We truly hope you will come out and enjoy yourselves.

GHHS Bands - Spring ‘Concert’ - Tomorrow, May 5, 7:00PM
We are very excited to announce a public performance by the GHHS Bands on Wednesday, May 5th.  The performance will feature the Jazz Ensemble and the ‘Pride of Grandview Heights’ Marching Band.  Their performances will take place in Bobcat Stadium where we can socially distance and enjoy a wonderful evening of music while honoring our graduating seniors.  Jazz Ensemble will perform several selections from various styles (swing, latin, funk) and the Marching Band will perform the 2021 Senior Show with music selected by our seniors.  Details are below
This performance is free and open to the public - no per-student attendee limit.  We ask all audience members to stay socially distanced, sit in family/group pods, and wear masks throughout the event.

Jazz Ensemble @ Vocal Music Department ‘Cabaret’ - Thursday, May 6, 7:00PM
The Cabaret is back!  The Jazz Ensemble will perform in conjunction with students from vocal music on Thursday, May 6 in the GHHS Auditorium.  Details below.
This performance is free but limited to 4 attendees per performing student.  Audience members will be asked to socially distance, sit in family/group pods, and wear masks throughout the event.

Uniform: Row Shirt, shorts/jeans/leggings, athletic shoes (no sandals)
Bring sweatshirt of your choice to wear in stands before performance.
