BAND DIRECTOR'S UPDATE

Welcome back everyone!  I hope you were able to rest and relax during our holiday break.  The next two and a half months will be quite busy.  Here are the highlights:

Pep Band Returns!!

The Pep Band is back!  We are excited to return to support our basketball teams this season.  The surge in the Omicron variant will likely create challenges but we will overcome them.  Here are the details:

“All marching band members are required to perform at 3 games - 1 boys, 2 girls, and one of your choice..  If you are a basketball player or cheerleader - please sign up for games that fit in your schedule (ex. girls bball sign up for boys bball pep band).  

Find dates/games that work in your schedule then click on your instrument (part assignment is not important) and sign up.  Email addresses are required.  You will receive an email reminder the day before your sign up.  If you need to drop a game and sign up for another, please contact Mr. Herrmann beforehand.”

***NOTE: Games 1 and 2 have been cancelled as a precautionary measure - if you signed up for those games - you will need to find a substitute game instead.***
 US Naval Academy Brass Quintet Residency - Feb 10, 2022
The USNA Brass Quintet is scheduled for a midwestern tour of the United States in February.  They contacted us to see if we would be interested in hosting them.  The final approval from the Navy came through during our break and we are very excited.  At the moment, everything is tentative (due to the pandemic) but we want to make sure everyone is aware of this exciting development.

 OMEA Solo & Ensemble - Feb 12, 2022
The opportunity for our students to perform at the Ohio Music Education Association Solo & Ensemble event is back as well.  At the moment, it will be a live performance.  Exact details for number of attendees as well as Covid protocols will be released at a later date.  I need to know by TOMORROW afternoon if you are interested in performing.
