A great come from behind win for the Bobcats and another fantastic performance of show 1 by the GHHMB!!! We’re looking forward to debuting Show 2 this week - “Dance
Party USA.” Also, don’t forget the Ox Roast Pit Lighting after the game vs. Whitehall Yearling on Friday (TOMORROW).
Ox Roast Pit Lighting - Friday, September 9
Just a quick courtesy reminder for this Friday, September 9th. All band members will be responsible for reporting to the Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary parking lot at a pre-determined time following the game. More details to be announced at the game. Dress will be summer uniforms.
Each band member received a flip folder from the band at the beginning of their freshman year. The flip folder allows your student to conveniently keep their music organized and transport it easily.
If your student has misplaced their flip, it is their responsibility to replace it. Flip folders are available from Stanton’s Sheet Music (330 South Fourth St), Music & Arts (Graceland Shopping Center), Buckeye Brass (7445 Montgomery Dr, Plain City), or online. Flip folders come standard with 5 ‘windows.’ It is recommended you purchase extra windows to accommodate all the music distributed.
Music/Flip Folders will be checked next Tuesday (and periodically throughout the season) and is calculated into your student’s grade as class preparation. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
We have three more Evening Rehearsals for this season and that number will not increase. All three rehearsals are considered required and will be calculated into your grade. Exceptions to the requirement are (1) for athletes who have traveling matches which return later than 9:00PM, or, (2) on a case-by-case basis as needed. Work and non-Grandview Heights activities should be scheduled around Evening Rehearsals; please submit the dates above to your work management or advisors.
Our next night rehearsal is Thursday, September 15th, 8:00-10:00PM.
The band will continue performing in their Summer uniforms for one more week. Consistency from student to student is very important. All students are expected to follow these guidelines:
Call Time: 5:45pm
(use these 15 minutes to take equipment and personal belongings to the stadium)
March In: 6:30pm
Kick Off: 7:00pm
**Ox Roast Following the Game: Students will be responsible for transportation to Stevenson. We will line up at Stevenson, march down to the Ox Roast, perform several songs, then march out. Students can then return to the band room to drop off instruments.
NOTE: All large instruments (baritone, sousaphone, and drums) will need to transport their instruments to and from Stevenson.
