BAND DIRECTORS' UPDATE - MIDDLE SCHOOL EDITION

10/9/2019

We hope this update finds you and your family well.  It has been a very busy fall for our EILMS bands, diligently preparing for the Fall Concert.  It is just over a month away -
Wednesday, November 13.  More details below.

Concert Participation/Summative Assessment
The importance of concerts cannot be stressed enough.  They serve as the culmination of preparation each quarter, and serve as a showcase.  Illness or family emergencies are acceptable reasons for missing a concert; but all situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Students who are unexcused for a concert will not receive credit for the performance.  If a student is ill or otherwise cannot participate, the concert will not be included in the quarter grade.   If you know of a conflict with the schedule below; please contact Mr. Heath (5-7 Bands) or Herrmann (8 Band) as soon as possible.

Concert Attire/Dress
Boys: Navy Blue “Grandview Heights Band” Polo Shirt, Khaki colored dress pants, dress shoes and socks.
Girls: Navy Blue “Grandview Heights Band” Polo Shirt, Khaki colored pants or skirt of appropriate length; dress shoes, socks/hose.

A separate email announcement regarding the polos was sent, by Julie Rutter (GHBPA Communications Secretary), to all 5-8 band parents in our email directory.  It is very possible your student requested a hard copy as well.  All 5th grade students have been fitted and polos ordered by the Grandview Heights Band Parent Association.  Polos are $15 and the GHBPA asks you to submit your payments (cash or check to Grandview Heights Band Parent Association) to Claire Parson - secretary at EILMS.

Don’t forget!  Wednesday, November 13th - Edison Intermediate/Larson Middle School Band Concert featuring the 5th through 8th Grade Bands.  Below is the important information:
