BAND DIRECTOR's UPDATE - BAND CAMP

I am excited to share with you that as of today I can officially announce that the 2021 Grandview Heights Marching Band will be returning to sleepaway Band Camp this

summer! Band Camp will be held from July 25 through July 30, at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. 
 
As always, this would not have been possible without the efforts and support of our Grandview Heights Band Parent Association. In addition, this year we are extremely grateful to the Bobcat Boosters organization and the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Education Foundation, both of whom stepped in on short notice to offer generous financial support for Band Camp. This has been a difficult year for all of us, and this show of community support for our band students is truly meaningful and very much appreciated. 
 
While the family survey we conducted demonstrated that there was broad support among our families for a sleepaway camp experience, I recognize that there will be a few students who are unable to participate in Band Camp this year. We regret that not everyone will be able to join us at OWU. Given all the challenges that we faced in scheduling, logistics, and funding, there were no perfect answers, but we believe that we have settled on what will be the best option for the most students. 
 
For your planning purposes, I can confirm today that the cost to families will be $250 for the first student and $225 for the second. (Please be aware that confidential financial assistance is available if needed – you can contact me privately for more information.) The Band Parents Association will be in touch very early next week with full details about parent volunteer opportunities, necessary paperwork, schedules, and how and when to make your payment. 
 
In the meantime, I thank you all for your continued patience and enthusiastic support of our GHHS band program. We could not do this without you!
