Our GHHS Marching Band students had a huge week last week - capped off by the second annual "Apple Night" at the Bobcats' football game. GHBOB members Jenni and Andy Betz and their family have introduced the apple night tradition in Grandview after enjoying it themselves as members of the Gallia Academy high school marching band together years ago. Once every season, a local Gallia County family picked apples and brought them to share with the marching band on a football Friday night, and the Betz family now does the same for our Grandview students. This year they brought enough to share with the cheerleaders, football team, and their coaching staffs as well, building goodwill and new connections among all our programs. Big thanks to the Betz family for making this a part of our football Friday nights in Grandview! A few apple-tastic photos are below, as well as some pics and video from the Friday night performance and our intrepid concessions stand volunteers.
The night before, our marching Bobcats helped kick off the fun at the annual Ox Roast pep rally and pit lighting event. Our sixteen band seniors got to join a couple dozen other senior athletes in the annual ceremonial lighting of the ox roasting pit. Bobcat Booster and friend of the band Victor van Buchem took some amazing photos that we are taking the liberty of sharing here. Kudos to everyone who played a role in another great week of marching band activities!
