Friends, the last checks are being gathered and the official count is ongoing, but I can say with certainty that this will be the second straight year that we have raised more than $10,000 with our BOBCake Bash, and we are definitely going to set a new fundraising record. Huzzah! A BIG thank you to absolutely everyone who volunteered any of your time to make this event happen, but of course we are sending our biggest gratitude out to our BOBCake Bash co-chairs Catt Dimes and Terra Welsh. Congratulations to both of them for another well-organized, fun, and incredibly successful event!
We are also grateful to Tessa Carrel, who organized the second annual Cake Pops concert for the orchestra students to kick off BOBCake Bash week at the Grandview Heights Public Library. More than 120 audience members were in attendance to watch our orchestra students from grades 5 through 12 participate in mixed ensembles and play some beautiful music together. Cake pops for the crowd and a raffle that kicked off our fundraising efforts were (dare I say it?) the icing on the cake of what was already a great night! Check out some photos from both events, below. This year is bittersweet because Catt is "graduating" from her role along with her graduating senior. But we are so lucky to have had her running this show for the past four years. Each year has been bigger than the last since Catt took the wheel - in fact, this year's total is on pace to be a more than 50% increase over her first year's effort, and all told her four Bashes will have raised more than $37,000! Although we will miss her, she has set us on a path for great success for the future, and we are so grateful for that. And best of all each and every one of those dollars that Catt helped to raise has been or will be spent on programs and initiatives that will benefit our students. What a legacy she leaves behind. Thank you so much, Catt! And finally, a big thanks to our entire community for supporting this beloved community event, for the 76th straight year. We couldn't do this without you!
