BAND CAMP 2025. . . IT WAS A WHOLE VIBE!

Band Camp 2025 has come and gone and by all accounts it was a banner year. We incorporated a huge freshman class into the GHHS Marching Band, welcomed in the
largest band since the 2020 pandemic-impacted season, and in general the students worked hard, had fun, and comported themselves appropriately while living on a college campus away from home for a week (and attempting to buyout DoorDash). We couldn't be more proud!

It takes MORE than a village every year to pull off this feat, and GHBOB would like to especially thank the following people for helping to make this year's camp such a success:
  • Mrs. Olis and Mr. Stanley, our dedicated directors who planned a productive and rewarding camp week that balances lots of learning with ample time for fun and bonding;
  • Katie Russell, Nate Russell, and Eloise Jones, our Band Camp planning team;
  • Hayley Head in the Board of Education office, who always makes sure that our volunteers are background-checked in time for service;
  • Jim Jackson and State of Devotion, for providing our row shirts at cost and in time for camp;
  • Ken Heigel, who donates his professional photography services and artistic eye year after year;
  • Bob Rutter, James Herlihy, and Herlihy Moving & Storage for providing and driving our equipment trucks;
  • Nikki Ramming, Jen Hayes, Christy Monson, and Greg Hopkins, for serving as camp nurses during the week and keeping our campers healthy and well;
  • Jen Goncz, Tania Heren, Lori McCollough, Kurt Ritzman, Ben Roberts, Rick Willimot, Jenni Betz, Nikki Donovsky, and Katherine Kelsey for helping with the camp check-in process, luggage loading, and luggage unloading;
  • Melissa Bondy, Dawn Ritzman, Thor Sletten, Lisa Gladman, Sark Mahdasian, Natalie Glenn, Jason Drum, Eloise Jones, Beth Bishop, and Karen Smith for serving as overnight chaperones;
  • our students, for working hard and remaining on generally good behavior while enjoying a week away from home;
  • and of course we thank the GHS school board, school district, and administration, for underwriting the cost of busing, and for permitting our students to continue to participate in our off-site Band Camp experience.

We've shared a few of our favorite snapshots, but to view the entire album of candids collected by chaperones and staff during the week, you can click here.
