Welcome Back, Grandview Marching Band Families! (A Message from Director Olis)

7/6/2025

Dear Grandview Marching Band Students and Families,Welcome back! I hope you’ve all had a restful and fun summer so far. We are so excited to kick off the 2025–26 marching band season and can't wait to see everyone back in action!
Our marching band calendar is now fully updated on the Grandview Bands website. Please refer to that Google Calendar at any time for all required rehearsals and performances throughout the season.

As we approach our first summer rehearsal, be sure to take a close look at the Pre-Camp Schedule posted on the band website. Rehearsals begin Monday, July 14, but different student groups report on different days, so it's very important to review the schedule carefully. Our first day is for squad leaders and all drumline members (including freshmen).

We front-load our rehearsals during the summer in order to minimize time commitments once school begins. In fact, if you check the calendar, you’ll see we only have four evening rehearsals during the school year. This allows our student musicians time to focus on academics and also be fully involved in athletics, clubs, and other school activities.

The marching band performs at all football games, both home and away, as well as at a few community events and our Season in Review performance at the end of October. Again, all dates and details can be found on our calendar here: grandviewhtsband.org/calendar.

If your student needs to miss a rehearsal or performance, I ask that you let me know as soon as the conflict is known, preferably at least one week in advance. Early communication helps us plan effectively and support each student’s success in the ensemble.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I’m looking forward to another exciting, rewarding, and musical year together!
All the best,
Mrs. Olis
