GHBOB UPDATE

Greetings GHBOB families and happy first week of school! We hope you and your kiddos have gotten back into the school groove and are well on your way to another ​

great school year. Please read on for a few important notes, reminders, and URGENT REQUESTS from GHBOB.

1. DECAL DRIVE: FOLKS, we REALLY need some help on this - our Decal Drive signup is way, WAY too empty and the event is only four days away. PLEASE CLICK HERE ASAP and add your name if you can help - it's just two hours of your life on a Sunday afternoon, and the students do most of the heavy lifting, you only have to drive them around town and keep an eye on them while they work. Please, please help!
2. SPEAKING OF SIGNUPS: the fall GHBOB signupgenius is now available, and IT. IS. BIG!! Please click here to view it, and add your name to as many slots as possible! After a successful Decal Drive, the next "leg" of the GHBOB fundraising journey is running the concessions operation for all home JV and varsity football games, and it takes a lot of hands to help make that happen. We also need volunteers to help with uniforms, senior banners, equipment trucks, and a few other odds and ends - there is really something for everyone! Please remember that the funds we raise are used to support ALL students, in ALL grades, and ALL band and orchestra groups - so you DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MARCHING BAND PARENT to help us out on Friday nights. All are welcome! Grab some friends and do an "orchestra parent" or "middle school bands" takeover of the concession stand one night - you'll raise funds and make new friends, all for a good cause. THANK YOU!

   GHHS MARCHING BAND PERFORMANCES: The GHHS Marching Band kicked off its performances for the year this past Sunday in Falco Park with its traditional end-of-summer concert, and will take the field for the first time in 2024 NEXT Friday, August 23 at the Bobcats' home opener. Mrs. Olis will release details about call time and other logistics next week, but for the benefit of new families - your student will wear their SUMMER uniforms (white band polo, navy band shorts, short white socks, and white marching shoes) for this game and a few more at the beginning of the season. So please make sure those items are clean and ready to go!

   GHBOB MEETING: The next meeting of the GHBOB will be TOMORROW(Thursday, August 15) in the GHHS Band Room. All are welcome, please join us if you are interested in learning more about what we do!
