“BOBCAT BAND/ORCHESTRA 101”
Grandview Heights schools have an active and accomplished band program, with many different performances, activities, and important deadlines throughout all twelve months of the year. Things come at you fast, and we know it can be hard for new families to keep up. What follows is a summary of how the year will typically unfold for all students. Please keep in mind that this is based on past experience and may not necessarily be exactly accurate from year to year. [NOTE that this disclaimer is particularly relevant during the current coronavirus pandemic, which has forced the cancellation of many traditional activities.] For the most up-to-date information please refer to your director's email messages, the communications page of this web site, and social media updates throughout the year.
The Grandview Heights Band Parents Association (GHBPA) provides fundraising and volunteer support for all instrumental music activities throughout the year, for students in Grades 5-12. GHBPA also maintains this band web site and a Facebook page, as well as providing email communications throughout the year. Any adult with a Grandview instrumental music student living in their home is considered a "band parent" and is welcome to participate in GHBPA activities.
Note that lots and lots of parent volunteers are necessary to make all of these activities possible for our students. Please take note and help out when you can.
