 UPDATES FROM THE
BAND PARENTS & DIRECTOR

band parents' update

11/11/2019

Greetings, Band families, just a few notes this week from the BPA:
  1. MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERTS: the middle school bands will kick off their concert season this week, on Weds. Nov 13 in the GHHS Auditorium. The Fifth and Sixth grade bands perform at 6pm, and the Seventh and Eighth grade bands will go on at 7pm. Concert dress is the navy blue polo shirt w/white GH Bands logo, along with khaki pants or a skirt. Shirts were delivered last week to several grades, and students who didn't receive them last week should receive them this week at school. For questions regarding shirts, please contact Jennifer Marcellana.
  2. FOOTBALL BOBCATS WIN!: the mighty Bobcats football team won an exciting nail-biter on Friday night against Bainbridge Paint Valley, to advance to the second round of the OHSAA playoffs. They will play again this Friday, Nov 15, against Mechanicsburg HS at Hilliard Darby HS, at 7pm. This is a required performance for GHHS Marching Band students, and Mr. Herrmann will release call details later this week. Note that the Band Parents will not be providing a pregame meal this week since the game is closer to home, so please feed your student before s/he leaves for the game.
  3. QUIET TIME: finally, some of you may have noticed that the Band Parents haven't been showing up on your in-box quite as much lately, now that football's regular season is over. While the band programs allremain active during the winter and spring months, the Band Parents have far fewer needs for parent volunteers, so our email communications will slow down accordingly. That said, the web site will still be regularly updated, you can always visit Bobcat Bands 101 if you want an idea of what might be coming up, and we can answer any other questions you may have at GrandviewHeightsBPA@gmail.com. As a heads up, our next big volunteer need will be the 71st annual Cake Walk on April 3, 2020. Please mark your calendars now!
Thanks, all!  Questions? Let me know!
